The Yin and Yang of Energy

Had some thoughts I need to write down. My observations today. I was visiting relatives today and when I entered my aunts house my nephews and my niece were sitting there. These kids are about 2 years old and the oldest is about 6. I noticed the energy in the room was super positive and exhilarating. Everyone was focused on the kids and the rambunctious nature of youth was apparent.

It was infectious to say the least. Giving and receiving unconditional energy is truly something to behold. Unbridled joy, unrestrained enthusiasm are the hallmarks of youth. To witness it and be a part of it is like being renewed and recharged oneself.

When the kids left something interesting happened. The energy subsided and the senior citizens left in the room with myself, well lets say the energy was more stagnant more stale as it were.

It got me thinking of the nature of energy and how it is transferred and created. We are human energy generators especially in the youthful stages of our lives.

But is that the full truth? I have personally witnessed people that have energy generating from them at all stages of life.

I met a lady who was in I would say in her late 50’s early 60’s and her mother who was 78 maybe 80. You would think there energy was on the antique side of the equation.

Surprise surprise. There energy was off the charts. So happy to be alive babeee.

They did alot of activities together like building a treehouse outside and going shark diving together. Yes you heard that right Shark Diving.

I was shown pictures of them under the water with sharks circling them. Wow is the only word I could think of.

Where does this enthusiasm come from? Where do we get our energy? Why is youth the barometer for energy?

Can we all sustain energy just by thinking about it? Is the mind so powerful that we can create electricity through our bodies with a thought?

Is there more to it? Can the process be helped along as we age? Alot of questions but to me at least requires further exploration.

Here is a thought……..Maybe alot of the ideas we are taught while we pass through this life are not helping us retain our energy. We have energy blockages that come from negative ideas such as labelling people, bigoted behaviour, racism, incessant gossip and innuendo.

Maybe to be free like children is the answer. Maybe it is not the complete answer but part of the solution to the problems we face. Maybe letting go of energy blockages is the path forward. To improve our health and wealth requires constant scrutiny of our energy and what we allow to enter our state of mind.

After all garbage in garbage out.

2 Dimensional Thinking

We live in a world full of labels. Is it possible that our labels define our thinking as well?
Let me explain. Most of us are limited. In one way or another we are limited. But are we limited because we practice a two dimensional thinking process to our lives.
For example, take the concept of racism and objectification. We objectify people as things and categories.
Linear thinking has its place. It helps in the survival process.

It helps in the ability to discern friend from foe. But like most things in life there are levels to things.
But like most things there is more to the world than the black and white.
A spectrum of color exists, a nuance of opinion and thought that governs the world we exist in.
When reading about some of the most “successful” people in the world, the Richard Bransons’ or Steve Jobs’ of the world, is an impressive lateral thinking mode that they apply to there daily lives.
People who knew Steve Jobs always remarked at how differently he looked at the world.

Richard Branson said his dyslexia allowed him to see things from a different perspective. Allowed him to approach the world from a different vantage point. Most of us get stuck in our worldview.
Like rigor mortis of the mind, our habitual thought patterns put a lasso and a chokehold around our ability to see different vantage points.
I suppose that’s what separates the genius of a Richard Branson from the regular joe.
Next time we decide to make a decision in life whether it be a business decision or a lifestyle choice applying a little creative thought would be prescient
I definitely could use some more divergent thinking, it would of saved me a lot of heartache and time bumping into invisible walls of my own making and choosing.
Imagine constantly hitting your head into walls and being blind to the obvious, but then stepping back and adding perspective.
Wow what a revelation. A new story emerges. Something to think about

Food for Thought

I always wondered about the power of food. I mean we all know food is nourishment and sustenance.

Food is comfort. The hearty feeling of a nice warm soup on a winters day or a bowl of macaroni and cheese.

Food is the elixir of life.

But looking at the world around me sometimes I think food is also a destructive force. Let me explain

As human beings we tend to take things that are wholesome and used for positivity and invert them.

Humans have opposable thumbs that allow us to build tools and structures that allow us to control our environment. But those tools can also be used to maim and kill like a gun. Human beings have the ability to create a harmonious structure but can be as destructive just as quick.

I wonder if this “Foodie” culture that we have created in the West is a healthy mode of living. We rationalize this culture as humans always do because we are helping the economy and the many restaurants that pop up but is it healthy?

Is it?

Constantly stuffing our faces with food no matter how inviting it may feel is probably not a good thing. How many times have we had a turkey dinner and felt sleepy afterwards.

Our brains were somewhat nullified.

And this is the issue. It pacifies us. Makes us inherently weaker. Makes us softer.

The first world so to speak is soft. We are made soft. We are spoiled.

Could food be part of the problem? We overindulge. Once the overindulging process takes place it slows us down. Makes us weaker and dulls our brain.
